Its so easy especially in the society we live in today to focus and place our attention on the negative aspects of life. Its easy to sit and ponder on what we wish we had, what we wish we could change, and think about all the things we don’t like. If you want peace in your life YOU MUST fight for it daily. Everybody experiences challenging times in life, and its apart of living that we must all accept. Don’t allow your challenging times to cripple you and cause you crawl under a depressed my life is over rock. I believe the enemy (evil forces) are always fighting to cause stress in our lives,make us fall, and lose hope.(Ephesians 6:12). We must stand strong and fight back. Here are a few ways I have learned to fight against the negative committee that tries to party in my mind. I am determined to have peace and believe God’s promises for my life.

Count Your Blessings: 
How often in life do you pray for a thing ( this can be a job, house, car, husband, children, organization etc), but then once you are blessed with the thing you prayed for you are happy for the first few weeks, then slowly you begin to take that “relationship” “job” “house” etc for granted. You find yourself slowly complaining about how you wish you could change him or her, or how you don’t want to go to work, you don’t like your boss, your children are getting on your last nerve and so on so forth. Do you realize what kind of energy you are putting out. Your outer will reflect your inner. If you continue to complain daily then your life will reflect more things to complain about. How about fighting for your life and your peace. On PURPOSE speak life, begin to say every thing that you are thankful for each day. Name everything you can think of until you run out of things to say. Place your focus on the positive blessings in your life NOT the negative. Remember you will get what you give.

Pray:
Ask God daily to renew your mind and your heart and to cleanse every unrighteous thought. Pray that GOD would purify your ways and make them pleasing in HIS sight. When I get in a mood where I am feeling down I stop, pray and ask GOD where are those thoughts coming from. I then pray that HE would deliver my mind from any bondage or stronghold coming against me. I start to declare blessings over my life. I declare that I can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13) I declare that I am above and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13). I declare that I have favor in every area, and I have great abundance flowing into my life. I ask God to always help me to remember all the blessings that I have. If you don’t control your mind and those silly negative thoughts they will seek to control you. Start now SPEAKING LIFE

Listen to uplifting music (gospel etc):
This is one of my favorite ways to get out of stinking thinking. Listening to uplifting music floods my heart with happiness and peace. I sing and dance while worshipping the Lord and instantly my heart is always filled with joy. Some of my favorite artist include Micah Stampley, Brian Courtney Wilson, William Murphy, Shekinah Glory

Read:
I have learned that in order to control those negative thoughts you must replace them with positive thoughts. We must focus on the good in our lives instead of the not so good situations. I am all about reading the bible or a great inspirational book. Read books that will motivate you and push you to be come better. I read books that help me with focusing my attention on the things I want in life and not on the things I don’t want in life. Some of my favorites are books by Joyce Meyer & Andy Stanley, & Les Brown.

Listen to inspirational teachings:
I am very big on listening to sermons and inspirational teachings. Doing this will help tune out the negative conversation that you may have going on in your head. This will help place some hope & encouragement in your mind instead. What ever you may be dealing with find teachings, blogs, or lectures on those specific topics that will help you reprogram your thinking. Some great inspirational speakers I often listen to include Juanita Bynum, David Wilkerson, Joyce Meyer, Les Brown & Jim Rohn etc.

Remember to intentionally give thanks for all your blessings, when you feel negative thoughts coming shift your focus by using one of the methods above. Do not allow your negative thoughts to control you. You are blessed even in the mist of your storms.
